Our winner from Random.org is comment #336: Amanda Huerta for being referred by Biehl Adventures! CONGRATS!!
**CLOSED**You may have already heard about BabyKicks online cloth diaper classes, and perhaps you’ve already tuned in to one. Either way, if you are looking for information about cloth diapers, pregnant and checking into all the different options available, or are utterly overwhelmed with all the different options available then we are sure you will benefit from this class. It can be much easier to attend a class while you’re at home, on break, or at a friend’s house then it is to pack up the kids, or find a babysitter, and make it on time to a local cloth diapering class (if there is even one available where you live). We started the online classes to make it more convenient for busy and/or expecting parents and also to help inform caregivers and family members about how easy cloth diapers really are. The class may even help to ease skeptics into the idea of changing a cloth diaper. Any type of cloth diapering class is excellent, and local classes are especially good because you can see and touch the items being shown, whereas in our online class this isn’t possible. And, of course that is a downside, but our class is very informative and is also live. This way you can have your questions answered immediately. It’s possible to use our class to become more familiar with cloth before seeking out and attending a class local to your area. Like a “dip your toes in to test the water” kind of thing. The class is twice a month and runs for an hour. Our schedule can be found here, and we hope you will tune in to our next Cloth Diapers 101 webinar! But there’s more! We would like to make our Cloth Diaper Webinar a recurring event, maybe once a month, but we need participants to make it happen! We know that everyone has questions and we want to answer them and educate more people about the benefits of cloth diapers so more and more parents make the switch. Please join us and invite everyone you know that is interested in using cloth diapers. We can make a difference, one baby at a time!
We have been on a mission to create the perfect one size diaper that is eco friendly and gentle on our babies, and practical and convenient to stand up with the hustle and bustle of our modern day world. During the past few months since the introduction of our Bumboo Pocket diaper we have had outstanding feedback from our retailers and customers. Many moms and dads have expressed their satisfaction with our natural inner pocket diaper and how pleased they are that they can finally go through the day without worrying about leaks.
The Bumboo Pocket Diaper offers everything we hoped for in a modern cloth diaper. The natural bamboo fleece is butter soft against baby’s skin and adds an additional layer of absorption. The included JoeyBunz insert is only 1/8 of an inch thick and made with a blend of hemp and organic cotton. And, due to the porous nature of the hemp, our JoeyBunz can handle the heaviest wetter and are not prone to compression leaks. We even took the Bumboo Pocket a step farther and added fleece gussets around the legs to allow air to flow under the waterproof PUL shell.
We have always wanted to keep our cloth diapers as trim as possible. And, we have had to make adjustments in the process. The original version of the Bumboo Pocket was designed to fit from 7-30 lbs. And, over time we realized that this weight range was not realistic for most families. So, after making some changes we have come out with the second version of the diaper, the Bumboo Pocket 2.0. One of the main changes in this version is an additional inch in the waist bringing the weight range up from 30lbs to 35lbs.
If you aren’t sure if the version you have is the original or the 2.0 there is an easy way to find out. All Bumboo Pocket Diapers with green or blue snaps are the original version. The 2.0 version is currently only available in our signature multi-colored snaps. If you have diapers with multi-colored snaps and are unsure if you have the original or the 2.0 then you must look at the control tag (small tag behind the large main tag). All Bumboo Pocket 2.0 version diapers will have this control number: TABKBP3-03-10. Remember, the original Bumboo Pocket Diaper is slightly smaller, but will still fit through most of your baby’s diapering years.
We hope this helps with any confusion there may be about our Bumboo Pocket cloth diapers and of course we are happy to answer any questions anyone may have! Just email us at info@babykicks.com.
This is one of the first questions asked by anyone looking into different types of cloth diapers and researching all the options. I think the main reason this question comes across everyone’s mind is due to the significant cost difference between hemp fiber, organic cotton, and conventional cotton products. The truth is, there are significant differences in the absorbency, durability, overall performance, and of course, environmental impact of hemp fiber products versus conventional and synthetic fibers.
First, and probably foremost, is absorbency. These are diapers after all and they need to hold a lot of “liquid”. Hemp is perfect for diapers because it absorbs at least 3x its weight in liquid. This allows for a trimmer fit without sacrificing absorbency. BabyKicks JoeyBunz are a perfect example of this. When microfiber or cotton inserts are replaced with hemp JoeyBunz, the diaper bag suddenly has a lot more room for changes of clothes, mom’s purse, snacks, goodies, etc. We feel that with less bulk babies are able to move more freely and be comfortable while showing off the cute “fluffy butt” that cloth diapers are known for, all at the same time.
Another great fact about hemp based products is that it wears in rather than wearing out. Hemp fibers are one of the most durable known to man so it will hold its shape and become increasingly more malleable with use. That’s right, the more hemp is used and washed, the softer it gets. The fibers are several times stronger than cotton, so garments (including diapers) will outlast other items made with 100% cotton as well as many synthetic products.
Hemp is also naturally antimicrobial, web definition: capable of destroying or inhibiting the growth of microorganisms. Which means your baby will be naturally protected from rash causing bacteria, fungus, and mold. No rash means happy baby, and happy baby means happy parents. With so much to worry about with a new addition to the family, at least diaper rash is in check.
Speaking of a new addition, one of the most important things for our little ones is having a healthy earth to thrive in. After all, none of us would be here without it, right? So, to return the favor of taking care of us, we should take care of our planet. Using hemp is a great way to be truly eco friendly. It grows well without any pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers, it is drought tolerant which means less water is needed to acquire an adequate crop, it replenishes the soil with nitrogen making it the perfect rotation crop for food farmers, and it grows rapidly, ready for harvest in about 4 months.
Hemp has been known as a “super fiber” for thousands of years and we are finally rediscovering why. Because of its absorbency, durability, mold/mildew resistance, and soft feel it is the perfect material for cloth diapers. Happy baby + Happy planet = Just the way it should be!
This is the last week for our Diaper Hunt and our traveling trio has chose somewhere that may be closer to home for “most” of us. This week they were hiding in London, England! Britain’s largest and most populated metropolitan area is also most easily spotted by the classic double decker buses.
Our winner for this last week is Random.org #388, austinmomtr! Congratulations!
Stephan, Otto, and Maya have been all over the place! During week 4 they decided to hide in Brussels, Belgium! This town serves as the capital of the European Union and is known for its waffles, chocolate, french fries and beer.
Our winner for this week is Random.org #293, mekjsk2000! Congratulations!
For week 3 of the Easter Diaper Hunt our traveling trio was hiding in Paril, France at the Mussee du Louvre! This wonderful museum was originally a fortress, then later, a palace and is home to many masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa and ancient Egyptian antiquities.
Our winner for this week is Random.org #274! SugarDipes! Congratulations!
With the help of The Cloth Diaper Whisperer we are hosting an Easter Diaper Hunt through the entire month of April! Our general manager, Stephan, is travelling (and hiding) all over Europe with our Bumboo Pocket and Organic Fitted, who we have nicknamed Otto and Maya. They will be sending pictures of landmarks in well known cities as a clue to where they are hiding. If you know where they are you have a chance to win 1 of 6 Easter bags that are guaranteed to include at least one Bumboo Pocket diaper! There will be 5 weeks of giveaways and one GRAND PRIZE at the end. We will also give clues on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week throughout the journey on our Facebook page, www.facebook/BabyKicksOrganic. For more information and official rules please visit www.TheClothDiaperWhisperer. Good luck everyone!
This Hemp Diaper does it all and when we designed it we had your baby’s comfort in mind. That is, for example, why we developed a special new hemp/cotton/polyester blend giving you a one of a kind hemp diaper. This fabric is very very soft and ‘comfortable’, super-stretchy and best of all it does not stiffen over time!
